Birth.  It’s a miraculous time—where a new life that’s been inside the mother makes an appearance in the wide world.  The miracle of life never gets old.  Each one of my children is precious beyond belief, and I wouldn’t trade them.

But if you asked me to sit down and watch a filming of the event, I’d pass.

To me, the birth process should be rated R or X, not something that is shown in TLC during primetime—over and over and over again.

83Stonewall Ina Garten Barefoot Contessa Rachel gives us the third lie that wives believe, coming from a fictitious husband:

Wife: "Sweetie, I’d like to watch Barefoot Contessa and see what she’s cooking today."
Hubby: "Great idea, I love Barefoot Contessa. And while we’re at it, maybe we can catch an episode of What Not to Wear."

I must confess.  I’ve watched a few episodes of What Not to Wear myself.  But then, the idea of spending $2,000 on such few articles of clothing and chopping off hair that took years to grow just started getting old.
