Wife: "Honey, is it OK if I don’t put on make-up today?"
Hubby: "I didn’t even notice you weren’t wearing any."

Whoops!  I don’t think anything says “I’m not really paying attention to you” than saying that you don’t think she looks different after all the time she spends in front of the mirror¹. 

She’s trying to look good—for you and the other people that she’ll come into contact with, and she knows how much work it is.

My question—does the wife really need to ask this question?  I mean, she already knows that he sees her with makeup and without—and obviously loves her either way.  So, it all boils back down to, who is she trying to impress, and if he’s going to react this way, is it worth the extra work?
