A Satirical Look at Married Life

Biblical Wives

On Sundays, we’re going to look into different wives from the Bible.  And not just the major ones.  The Bible has a lot to say about marriage, family, and the roles of men and women!

I think you’ll find this study interesting as we look through the lives of some Biblical wives, and even see how husbands really haven’t changed that much either.

Marriage, A Promise For Life

CoupleSunSet

When you looked at marriage as a kid, you looked at the idea of two people who were in love and that would love each other and live together forever.

That is, of course, the ideal.  Marriage was created to bind two people and make them one—physically, emotionally and spiritually.

The vows that are said on wedding day are more than just empty words that sound good, they are a promise that is made between life partners about what the other can expect for the rest of their life.

lg_fleur_de_lis I have some exciting news today!  I’d like to introduce you to two new contributors.

Rachel from Musings of a Future Pastor’s Wife describes herself as follows:

I’m a sinner saved by the grace of Jesus Christ. Wife to "Boaz." Mother to "Princess." Join me as I make my way through life’s ups and downs, strive to be a Proverbs 31 woman, and most of all be changed into His likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes only from Him. I also enjoy warm climates, jazz music, football, boiled seafood, and the occasional beignet. I’m stereotypical like that.

VickiNext there’s Lois Lane II from fearfully, wonderfully made:

I am an absent-minded, coffee-holic professor and have been married to my college sweetheart for three years and counting! We strive daily to be mirrors of God and also have one adorable Chihuahua.

These two fine ladies want to help expose the lies that wives believe, and help us all become better spouses… as well as shine a funny light on married life.

And that’s no lie.

Adam Schoofield

Adam Schofield first met Tracy Martin when they were teens.  You could say that Adam had a big crush on here, and though they were separated, he never forgot her.

As they parted ways to go off to college, they each went their separate direction.  Adam went to college for journalism, but as he was following some police detectives he began liking the process of finding out who did it, and putting the pieces together.

When he left college, he decided to pursue a private investigator’s license, and he, along with his sidekick, Noah Prescott, opened a private investigator shop out of their apartment as they started on their first case.

It wasn’t until about a year later that Adam bumped into Tracy Martin again—officially—as she had a case that needed solving, and she found him out.

The Idea

Admiration Welcome to the very first post of Lies Wives Believe.

The idea for the site is two fold:

First, we’ll take a look at the husband/wife dynamic as it pertains to the communication between husband and wife—in a funny way, of course.

Second, we’ll take a look at some of the things that wives believe about themselves, and try to shine a light on the truth of the situation.

It should be a lot of fun, and perhaps we’ll get some more wives to help write along the way.

So, join me, if you will, as we journey down the road looking at married life with all of its wrinkles and expectations.
