Lies Wives Believe

A Satirical Look at Married Life

Submission Through Love

Man Woman Fight

Noah’s on his way up the stairs.  He just made a loud noise and Laura heard on a radio sermon that she should be submitting to her husband instead of bossing him around.

“OUCH!”  Noah screams from the top of the stairs.  “I can’t do this!  I’m simply worn out, and that job is too dangerous to do when I’m tired.”  He’s clutching his hand.

Remembering what she just heard on the radio, and seeing the look on Noah’s face, Laura decides diplomacy is the right course of action.

”Then don’t do it.  Go take a nap or watch something on television.”  She almost says, “or fix this broken dishwasher” but she bites her tongue as the tension on Noah’s face melts—somewhat.

“You know what, I think I will call it a night.  Maybe tomorrow I’ll call the guy and explain what’s come up.  If it weren’t for Adam and all his ‘emergencies’ I would have gotten it done on time.”  He walks over to his wife, gives her a peck on the cheek, and heads to the bathroom.

If we showed more love, would our marriages be better off?
