Lies Wives Believe
A Satirical Look at Married Life
God Says, Let The Husband Lead
When we last left Laura and Noah, Laura was telling Noah that he should go down and get to work on a project that was overdo.
Begrudgingly, Noah gets up from his dinner and heads into the basement to get to work. With a satisfied look on her face, Laura finishes her meal, takes the plates over to the counter and rolls up her sleeves to get to work on the dishes
“Men—why can’t he get to fixing this dishwasher,” she wonders aloud. “I guess I shouldn’t complain when he’s that far behind! I don’t know what he’d do without me!”
She reaches over to turn on the radio and finds a sermon is being preached so decides to listen. The speaker is talking about submission in the family of God, but what really hits her heart is when the preacher says that even when a wife is better at doing a given thing, or is more organized, she needs to submit to her husband because that’s the order that God intended.
The preacher warns that if the wife doesn’t submit, she’s violating God’s standards, and that trouble can come of it.
Not believing what the preacher says, she turns over to some country music station and is most of the way through the dishes when she hears a loud scream come out, and stomping feet coming up the basement stairs.
