Lies Wives Believe

A Satirical Look at Married Life

Will you be home for Christmas?

The holidays are the best and worst times of the year. If you have friends and family and are in a fairly decent economical situation, they’re probably the best times of the year. But if you’re recently divorced or lost someone (or something, i.e. job) during the year, this could end up as the worst time of the year.

My time won’t be too bad. My husband will be gone most of Christmas day (and will be traveling for a full 13 days), but I will be with family, which makes me happy. Even though I won’t be with the man I love, I’ll at least have my wonderful family.

Some wives are not so lucky. Some may be alone this holiday season. Some women, like my mother-in-law, may be thinking about the Christmases past, when they were married. At any rate, while this may be a happy season for them, there will be something – or, more specifically, someone – missing.

If you know one of these women, please reach out to her. I get really sad when my husband leaves – my best friend is missing! But I do have some super wonderful girlfriends who always call me up to keep me busy. I am very grateful for them.

Also, if you are one of those wives who will be alone, remember this: you can celebrate Christmas before Hubby leaves or when he comes back. Trust me, I know it’s sad to not have him at Christmas, but you can always do something super-special when he is here. =)

Merry Christmas to you!
